Navigating acute anxiety in clinical practice

Acute anxiety and panic are on the rise, yet access to mental healthcare remains challenging for patients. As a result, mental health support is an increasing portion of care provided by the naturopathic and holistic clinician. As part of our duty of care it is critical to understand our roles, responsibilities and limitations in managing patients who present with acute anxiety and panic.

In this complimentary lunch and learn, practitioners will gain confidence in assessing and managing acute anxiety and panic, often in the context of complex mental health presentations, identifying opportunities for the safe and efficacious use of Kava and other synergistic herbal anxiolytics in clinical practice. Chantelle will discuss commonly prescribed medications, their efficacy, and how to safely support weaning and withdrawal from drugs such as benzodiazepines.
